Dr. Deepak Kumar- Founder, Nextnode Bioscience
Dr. Deepak Kumar, Ph.D (Ag Biotechnology) from N.D. University of Agriculture & Technology, Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, was born in a farmer family. He has been engaged in different R&D projects supported by DST and DSIR, Government of India, before stepping into the field of Agricultural Biotech business. The highly educated and experienced honcho, Dr. Deepak Kumar has also developed several techno-commercial business models that are implemented as Technical consultancy to more than dozen of companies for customized technical support.
Dr. Deepak, alongside his colleagues and partners- Sunny Patel, Jigar Patel and Ajay Patel, who are in the fields of agriculture organic inputs production and exports; incepted their venture ‘Nextnode Bioscience Pvt. Ltd’
Sharing his idea of venturing into Bioscience, Dr. Deepak says that during his tenure as a Research Scientist in a private industry, he desired to fill the gaps in technology development, its implementation and commercialization streams, through his extensive knowledge about techno commercial models in the industries, which eventually hit him with an idea to commence his own entrepreneurial journey.
Shedding light on his inspirations at diverse stages of life, he predominantly mentions that books by Swett Marden; his college teachers Dr. R.K. Kaul, Dr. R.K. Sharma, Dr. K.N. Singh and Dr. B.D. Kaushik, who groomed him for scientific temperament, are big source of motivation for him. He looks up to Mr. Sanjay Goel (Director, Shri Ram Solvent Extractions Pvt. Ltd.) as his role model in this industry, who taught Deepak techno-commercial aspect of business.
“Struggles are an inseparable part of life which eventually paves a way to success”, says Dr. Deepak, on recalling the time how he used to offer tuitions to school students to financially support his family during his graduation and post graduation. He owes gratitude to his friends and relatives who backed him during his rough patch of life.
He recalls how luck favored him once he joined the industry with ‘Shri Ram Solvent Extractions Pvt. Ltd’, and the company sponsored him for taking higher education (Ph.D) and groomed him for taking business responsibilities. And the industry paid off his hard work of eight years by imparting him techno- commercial and marketing expertise.
Though his job as a Research Scientist brought him great financial stability but the curious soul lacked mental satisfaction and aspired to explore some brilliant challenges to mould him the way he intended. He finally accumulated the capital required to incept his venture by offering customized technical consultancies to few industries.
Dr. Deepak is a great follower of B2B- horizontal and vertical models to tap the opportunities in the market. Earlier his company focused on raw material availability, technical feasibility, product quality, costing, branding and marketing patterns by particularly focusing on urea manufacturing industries which are always in huge requirement of quality neem oil for urea coating.
